Klein Announces $50 Million Investment in Florida's Energy Efficiency
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ron Klein (FL-22) today announced that the state of Florida will receive $50.4 million in funding from the Department of Energy under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to advance energy efficiency efforts and encourage the production, availability and use of renewable energy and alternative fuels. This investment will allow Florida to create loan and grant programs for local businesses that will promote the development and commercialization of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
“This is a critical investment in Florida’s clean energy economy,” Klein said. “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was designed to create jobs in our community, and today’s investment in local businesses and entrepreneurs working to develop and commercialize clean energy technologies will do just that. As we move towards a national energy solution in the U.S. House over the next few days, this investment will ensure that Florida continues to lead the nation in cutting-edge alternative energy technologies. Investing in clean, affordable renewable energy is critical in order to create jobs and revive Florida’s economy.” To Continue Reading Update on Florida Solar Rebate Program
