Commercial
  • Solar Thermal
    • State
      • Hot Water Heater
        • $15.00 per 1000 BTU with a maximum of $5000.00
      * All systems must be installed by a Certified Solar Contractor, and the system must be rated by the FSEC.
    • Federal Tax Credits
      • Domestic Hot Water Heater
        • 30% of the cost of the system - No Max
  • Solar Electric (PV)
    • State
      • $4.00 per watt rebate with a maximum of $100,000.00
        • Minimum system size - 2000 watts
        • Maximum system size - 25000 watts
      • Renewable Energy Property Tax Exemption
        • Under Florida law, improved real property upon which a renewable energy source device is installed and operated is entitled to an exemption in the amount of the original cost of the device, including the installation cost.
    • * All systems must be installed by a Certified Solar Contractor, and the system must be rated by the FSEC.
    • Federal
      • Choose between the following two options:
      1. Federal Tax Credits - 30% of the cost of the system - No Max
      2. Department of Treasury Grant:
        Creates a new program through the Department of Treasury that provides grants equal to 30% of the cost of solar system placed in service during 2009 and 2010, in lieu of the section 48 investment tax credit. Grants will be paid no later than 60 days of job completion.
      • Department of Energy Loan Guarantee:
        Department of Energy (DOE) loan guarantee program for renewable energy projects, renewable energy manufacturing facilities and electric power transmission projects.  Eligible renewable projects are those that generate electricity or thermal energy and facilities that manufacture related components. Projects must commence construction by September 30, 2011.

State and Federal incentives help make solar more affordable, and can cover up to 80% of the cost of the system.  The incentives, however, can cause confusion as they are not always clear.  We will walk you through the incentive process and help make sure you receive the incentives.  On this page you will see list of the most common incentives for residential and commercial properties.  For the most in-depth and current incentive programs go to www.dsireusa.org, or simply give us a call.  This page will concentrate on incentives available in South Florida.
